Mireya Treviño

Her first brush with foraging ended when she accepted a confident identification from a photograph that showed neither the underside nor the ground beneath it. After years checking net-haul records aboard small fishing boats, she now writes in her forties about that error and has never again treated a photograph as a specimen.
