Entire Altcoin's Market Cap Now Held By Three Guys In A Telegram Group

An altcoin that lists a market capitalization of $12.4 million on major tracking websites is, upon investigation, held almost entirely by three individuals who communicate exclusively through a Telegram group called "VORTEX ARMY" that has three members, all of whom are the founders. VortexCoin, launched in 2023 with a total supply of 10 billion tokens, distributed its initial allocation as follows: 3.4 billion tokens to founder A (Telegram handle @VortexKing), 3.3 billion tokens to founder B (@VortexGeneral), and 3.3 billion tokens to the "community treasury," which is a wallet controlled by founder C (@VortexCommander). The token's listed market cap is derived from a single transaction of 200 VORTEX tokens at $0.00124 each on a decentralized exchange, multiplied across the full 10 billion supply. The total dollar value actually exchanged in that transaction was $0.25. "Market cap is just math," explained @VortexKing, who declined to provide his legal name. "If someone buys one token for a dollar, and there are ten billion tokens, the market cap is ten billion dollars. That's not fraud. That's multiplication." Daily trading volume on VortexCoin averages $340, nearly all of which consists of the three founders trading with each other in what blockchain analysts describe as "a financial conversation between three people who already agree." The project's website features a roadmap that includes "major exchange listing" in Q2, "strategic partnerships" in Q3, and "global adoption" in Q4. The roadmap has not been updated since 2023 and all items remain listed as "upcoming." A fourth person briefly joined the Telegram group in September 2024, asked "is this project dead," received three simultaneous replies of "we're just getting started," and left. This interaction represents the project's most significant community engagement to date.
