Hinge's matching algorithm has achieved what its engineers are calling 'a mathematically perfect pairing' — two users with 99.97 percent compatibility across all measured dimensions who have been staring at each other's profiles in absolute silence for eleven consecutive days. The users, identified by the algorithm as User A and User B, matched on January 29th. Both immediately viewed each other's full profiles, a behavior the app tracks and which data scientists confirm indicates strong mutual interest. Neither has typed a single character.
